Well, quite alot has occurred since the last time I posted any info. Most of you are already aware that we moved into the new home back in Nov. This was behind the schedule we had originally planned, but... oh well... S**T happens. Was not any fault of the contractor, but had a lot to do with permits and sub-contractors. I had some pretty good shots of the excavation/grading site work being done, but can't find the roll of film to get it developed.

So, here is what occurred on the days of 9/8, and 9/9/99................

After being informed the mover was not sure he could haul the 2 sections of home up the driveway without utilizing some sort of tractor or caterpillar, he did come back to do one last minute inspection. Deciding to "Go For The Gusto", he was able to get the first half.. ("50 some odd feet long") around the first tight corner and begin the climb up the steepest part of the driveway in under 20 minutes. I will have to admit I was "quite impressed". Hard part accomplished, he now just hauls the first half over the crest of the ridge to the building pad...
So, now the first day is just about over... I'm wandering around soaking up the feeling of how soon I will be moving into this great new home, when suddenly it occurs to me that .... GASP!!!, the house is turned around 180 degrees from where I had planned it to be! Fortunately, the other half will not be spotted till tomorrow, so I jump on the phone and raise a little hell... just to be sure this important matter will be taken care of.
So, once again I am very impressed by the professional manner my contractor and the mover have handled my temper tantrums. The following morning they have already moved the first half and are setting the second in it's proper location by the time I show up to check on things and generally get in the way. I'm informed there was plenty of room to move the 2 sections around, and it really was no big deal to place the halves of the home where I really wanted them.

So, this is what the place looked like quite a few weeks later after some of the decking is in place, power and phone are hooked up, and we are just about ready to move in.....this is an afternoon shot taken from the "meadow" below the home, looking east...

Now, all I need to do is "LOT'S" of landscaping.... know anyone with a small tractor with a backhoe for sale???
