Palaeocarcharodon orientalis Logo

Palaeocarcharodon orientalis teeth are highly serrated and the tooth shape is suggestive of

Carcharodon carcharias, the modern great white shark.

Palaeocarcharodon is also known as the "pygmy white shark,"

but most of today's paleontologists believe it was an evolutionary dead end,

unrelated to megalodon and the modern great white.
