A total of 2 inches of new snow fell over the night. The snow is heavy, dense, and wet. Just enough to cover up the obstacles. Be Careful!!!

Cal-Trans has opened the gate at the west end, making the trailhead at Lake Alpine accessible. The snow is very rotten, with very little ice under the upper layer. Spicer Reservoir Road (7N01) is unmaintained and open for wheeled over snow travel.

A small group made it to the ladder/stairs on the south side of the river. They came in from 7N01 (Utica Reservoir) and played for the day. Off camber conditions caused a roll over or 2.

The conditions are still rough. Getting through the trees past the "Stone House" will be very difficult. Please stay on the trail.

Tentative date for the Spring trail run: May 24, 2008 10am at the Spicer Sno-Park
