Windows XP Dialup Creation


Goldrush Windows XP Dialup Setup:

  • Click the Start button, then Control Panel, then Network Connections. (If your Control Panel is in Category view, select Network and Internet Connections, then the Network Connections Control Panel icon.)

  • Under "Network Tasks" on the left hand side of the window, click Create a New Connection.

  • The "New Connection Wizard" box should appear. Click the Next button.

  • Select the "Connect to the Internet" option and click the Next button.

  • Select the "Set up my connection manually" option and click the Next button.

  • Select the "Connect using a dial-up modem" option and click the Next button.

  • For the ISP name, type in Goldrush and click the Next button.

  • Enter the telephone number, then click the Next button.

  • Enter one of numbers listed below. Please choose one that is local for you.
    (dialing the area code should not be required unless you are dialing long distance)

  • In the "New Connection Wizard" window:
    Enter your Goldrush user name and password for the account information.

  • Make sure that the "Make this the default Internet connection" and "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection" options are checked.

  • The "Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer" option can be checked.

  • Click the Next button.

  • Check the option to add a shortcut to your desktop; click the Finish button. A Goldrush icon should now appear on the desktop. To connect to the Internet, double-click the desktop icon; enter your account name and password if prompted.
