Using the Real Server Using the Real Server for audio/video streaming is basically a 3-step process: 1. Transfer your media file(s) to the server. You must have previously arranged for an account on the Real Server. Transfer your file(s) using your ftp client and the following settings:
"username" is your Goldrush User (Login) Name
"password" is your Goldrush password Here's how it would look in FTP Commander:
2. Create a .ram file. Use your text editor to create a file that will point to your media file. Use the following format:
rtsp://media.goldrush.com/domain.com/filename.rm Substitute the name of your domain for "domain.com" and the name of your media file for "filename.rm". Here is an example of an actual .ram file that points to a clip on the server:
Notice that there is only one line in this file. It was saved as test.ram and can be accessed from the link below: 3. Put a link on your web page to the .ram file. You can view the source of the following link: If you don't wish to place a link on your web page, you can put the rtsp line directly into your Real Player. For example, you can copy the following line and copy it to the location area in Real Player: rtsp://media.goldrush.com/test.com/g2video.rm That's it...start streaming!
